INFO ON ME
I rode my first horse when I was 6 year old. I got my first horse when I was 12 years old - a beautiful white welsh/thoroughbred/warmblood cross named Uddens Tinto. He was a dressage horse and had competed the European Championships. He was an awesome teacher! I stopped riding at 14 after moving to a boarding school. I hardly saw a horse over the next 20 years. Then, I moved to Texas. A series of events led me to Darolyn Butler's place www.horseridingfun.com and I discovered endurance racing. Ms Butler is 5 times American Champion, has 30 000 (!) miles in competition and holds the world record in number of completed 100-mile races. After 3 weeks at Darloyn's place I did my first 25 mile (40 km) ride and came 6th. I was hooked and started riding with Darolyn. I advanced quickly, 2nd place in my first 50-miler, 1st place in my second 50 miler and BC (Best Condition), then a 75 miler and then I began FEI rides. I did a CEI1* on DC MacProof and then a CEI3* 100 miler on the same horse in 9h 09 min. Shortly after that race I met R Tse Q and I bought him from Darolyn in 2006. Over the next couple of years I competed sparsely as I became pregnant and subsequently had a son. But in the beginning of 2009 my competitive gene took overhand and now I'm in pursuit of the WEG. Professionally I am an entrepreneur, working as a personal development coach with managers and individuals. I have recently started to incorporate horses in my coaching and leadership development training. I have a Bachelor in business and a Master in Psychology with a past in the corporate world. I am well travelled and have lived and worked in Sweden, the UK, Australia, Monaco and in the US. I live in Houston, TX with my husband and 3-year old son. cecilia@engquist.org(832) 860-4263 |
